Finally made it in to give BuaTong a try. Have heard nothing but great things, and most reviews I've read have been positive. Dined with a non-vegan, I am primarily whole-food plant based. Everything was delicious! We tried the Chinese chicken salad, panang curry with tofu, fresh spring rolls and pad thai. All flavors were on point. Also had their Thai tea, which was just as creamy as the non-vegan version. Looking forward to eating here again.

This place, even though I didn't know it was vegan prior to doing take out, is so good!! The flavors of the curry and the noodles are delicious. The one thing I wouldn't do is order any vegan meat. I just didn't like the flavor or texture of it and would instead like to get tofu next time. Other than that, take out was delicious and I'll have to go in person soon!

Amazing food and choices. Variety of food items to pick from. Great tasting food! Everything is fresh and they can modify any item. Their deserts are great too. Highly recommended.

This place is a gem with incredible flavors that seem to be one of a kind family recipes. The restaurant used to be called Thai Royal Orchid, but the new name is Buatong. Yes, the this is a 100% vegan restaurant, but if you aren't vegan, give it a try! The lunch specials come with a beautiful array of food. I got the Yellow curry, and it came with a Thai side salad, fried spring roll, rice, AND a choice of chow mein or pad Thai. The chow mein was absolutely delicious and reminded me of the noodles you can get specifically in the Southwest Chinese (Yuunan)/Northeast Indian/Burmese region! Note that I went on a day where they were short staffed, but everything was worth the wait! Don't let that deter you. Can't wait to go back!

Great food, huge portions, clean restaurant. Excellent customer service. I'm really glad that we have more vegan restaurants in Fresno this is a great addition.

I am a devout carnivore but am also interested in good tasting food. This place is vegan and I've been wanting to come here for a while. Finally had an opportunity to stop by and have a nice relaxing dinner. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We had the green curry, the tom yum soup and papaya salad. It was SO flavorful and tasty. I didn't think of it as vegan, rather I thought of it as Thai food and really good Thai food too. Don't let the idea of the plant based approach distract you from a flavorful experience. Overall was a great time and I look forward to coming back.

I'd been here with my family at least once when they were a normal Thai restaurant. When I came here on a week night with a friend last week, we saw that they have gone completely vegan. No fish sauce made it tempting for me to leave. But I'm glad we stayed and gave this place a try. We ordered the beef pad Thai, the yellow chicken curry with the basil fried rice. I can tell they put a lot of attention into their food. The beef pad Thai was delicious, though it could have used more of the sauce that is normally in the dish. The "beef" was tasty and had a hint of hoisin in it. The fried rice that came with the yellow chicken curry was also delicious, though it could have used vegetables in it. The only thing I have complaints about is the fact that the potatoes in the yellow chicken curry were not cooked well and long enough, so they had a weird and harder texture. Hopefully they will improve that. But you can't blame them for wanting to change their concept, shifting to healthier and more sustainable options, which can be rare in Fresno. It would be helpful though if they put what their protein options were made of on the menu. Service was pretty good, though I could tell they were pretty busy, they took the time to refill our waters and check in on us. I would return.

When getting to Thai Royal orchid, I was surprised they had moved to an all Vegan menu. Ill admit, I originally thought it wouldn't be what I wanted but when I sat down to eat, i was thrilled at how delicious everything was! Not to mention, the price is more than reasonable, they have a good selection of dishes to choose from, and the staff are very polite and responsive. Lastly, the place is very warm and inviting as well as, comfortable.

Thai Royal Orchid is NOT CLOSED! It is open under new management and it has gone ALL VEGAN! I'll have to try to figure out how to get Yelp to remove the "closed" label... My husband and I went here last night, expecting the same Thai food we'd been eating here for nearly 20 years. When we were told it was now all vegan, I was honestly a little disappointed because many of the Thai dishes we enjoy (satay, or chili jam) are the meatier ones. However, my husband was in the mood for Thai food and didn't want to go anywhere else so we stayed. It was honestly pretty good. As long as you are OK with no meat, I think you'll be pleased with the dishes you can get. We had egg rolls, green curry with tofu, and pad thai with tofu. You can also substitute faux meat (such as vegan chicken) but that's not our thing -- we prefer tofu. All of the dishes were good, especially the egg rolls. The food was a little less salty than we prefer and we missed the taste of fish sauce in everything, but the food was still enjoyable. The green curry had a bit of heat to it, as you expect from green curry. My husband really liked the pad thai, and he liked that it was on the dry side, versus saucy. To me it was a bit bland but pad thai is never my favorite dish so you can't go by my opinion. It was fine, really. I like lad nah noodles instead and if we go back I'll probably try that. The service was very kind and attentive. Everyone at the restaurant was extremely nice. The ambiance is identical to the old Thai Royal Orchid. They kept all the old decor so it will look very familiar to all the old customers. Overall if you don't mind the fact that the vegan menu is a little limiting, I'd recommend it!
